Too often, young people impacted by lack of resources, incarceration, foster care, immigration challenges, and other systemic barriers are underestimated and unseen for their potential. Many grow up believing they don’t have permission to dream. FREE TO DREAM™ — founded by award-winning artist and activist Common in partnership with Britebound — affirms every young person’s power to manifest something more. In this interactive workshop, participants engage with The Five Practices for Transformative Dreaming, the anchoring framework of the Dreamkeeper™ Resource Kit — a free resource for the caring adults who guide young people to explore their dreams as vehicles for personal and collective transformation. Attendees move through the practices as dreamers themselves (because we can dream, too) and leave with the pedagogy, tools, and practical guidance to bring this work immediately to the youth they serve, from classrooms to counseling offices.
