This interactive workshop equips JAG Specialists and Program Managers with strategies to intentionally leverage students’ fine arts experiences to strengthen chapter engagement, leadership development, and measurable program outcomes. Drawing from instrumental band, choral music, and theatre programs, this session highlights how performance-based disciplines naturally cultivate leadership, collaboration, professionalism, communication, time management, and problem solving, all of which align directly with JAG competencies.

Participants will examine how to translate these existing student skill sets into high-impact JAG programming. The session will explore how instrumental music structures such as rehearsal discipline, section leadership, and performance planning can inform competition preparation, chapter organization, and program branding. Choral frameworks such as ensemble collaboration, vocal leadership, and audience engagement will be connected to teamwork, professionalism, and presentation skills. Theatre practices including stage presence, storytelling, improvisation, and production planning will be applied to interview readiness, public speaking, advocacy, and event execution.

Through guided discussion, applied examples, and planning activities, participants will identify opportunities to intentionally integrate arts-based competencies into JAG initiatives including community service projects, leadership development, competitive events, and chapter culture-building. Emphasis will be placed on designing structures that make these skills visible, measurable, and transferable.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with a clear implementation plan for leveraging fine arts as a workforce development tool within their JAG program, strengthening both student outcomes and overall chapter performances.
